LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Piedmont women's tennis team is moving on in the USA South tournament after posting a 7-2 win over Averett in the quarterfinals.
KARA LANDSIEDEL was the clincher with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4 singles.
The Lady Lions took two in doubles play to post a 2-1 advantage moving to singles. Landsiedel and
CRYSALIN GLORIA won 8-0 at #3 to set the tone for Piedmont followed by an 8-1 win at #2 by
MAGGIE MOODY and
CAROLINE CONNELLY.
Connelly lived up to her status as Rookie of the Year in the league with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #2 for Piedmont's first win in singles. Piedmont took five of the six singles decisions with the only loss coming at #1 as
MORGAN BUCHHOLZ lost to Heidi Sarkkinen who finished her third consecutive spring undefeated in singles play.
MEGAN WALDHEIM,
MAGGIE MOODY and
MAUREEN TRUETT all claimed wins in singles play as well.
