DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's tennis team dropped its regular season finale to Berry College 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon at the Burgen Tennis Courts. 

The Lady Lions will head into the USA South Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West Division and will take on Averett University on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Piedmont took an early 2-1 lead with doubles win from MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and MEGAN WALDHEIM at #1 and MAGGIE MOODY and CAROLINE CONNELLY at #2. 

Each team won their doubles match 8-6. 

Berry would pull ahead 4-2  with singles wins at #2, #3 and #1 before Moody won 6-4, 6-3 at #4 to keep Piedmont alive. 

Berry would go on to clinch the match with a win at #5. 

CRYSALIN GLORIA closed the day with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the #6 singles spot.
