Berea, Ky. – The Piedmont women's tennis team swept Berea 9-0 on Friday and extended its winning streak to six matches after starting the season 0-2.
Piedmont also remains unbeaten in the USA South Athletic Conference and sits atop the West Division standings at 3-0.
The Lady Lions jumped out to a 3-0 lead after taking all three doubles matches.
The #3 team of
MAUREEN TRUETT and
TATIANA BURKETT gave Piedmont its first win after cruising to an 8-0 victory before the #2 team of
MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and
MATTIE WOOD won 8-1.
The #1 team of
CAROLINE CONNELLY and
MAGGIE MOODY took an 8-1 win.
The Lady Lions had no issues in singles play as Piedmont only dropped three games.
Buchholz started things off with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #1 before
MEGAN WALDHEIM clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #3.
KARA LANDSIEDEL continued the winning with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #4 while Connelly won 6-0, 6-0 at #2.
CRYSALIN GLORIA won 6-0, 6-1 at #5 while
KARINA RIVERA capped the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6.
