DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's tennis team extended its win streak to five games on Wednesday after taking a 9-0 USA South Athletic Conference match over rival LaGrange College on a cold and windy afternoon.
The #3 doubles team of
DURDEN SMITH and
CRYSALIN GLORIA took the first points for Piedmont after winning 8-2 before the #2 team of
CAROLINE CONNELLY and
MAGGIE MOODY also won 8-2.
MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and
MEGAN WALDHEIM teamed up at #1 doubles and won 8-4 to give Piedmont a 3-0 lead.
Connelly continued the winning at #1 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Buchholz would thn clinch the match at #2 with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
KARA LANDSIEDEL had the easiest win for the Lady Lions, taking a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4. Moody battled to a 7-5, 7-6 win at #3 while
KARINA RIVERA won 6-1, 6-1 at #6.
MAUREEN TRUETT capped off the evening with a 6-4, 7-5 win at #5.
