DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's tennis team split into two groups on Tuesday and earned an 8-1 win over Brevard and a 9-0 win over Agnes Scott.
Because of the threat of rain in Brevard, Wednesday's match between the two schools was moved to Tuesday.
In the 8-1 win over Brevard, Piedmont swept singles play and won at #1 and #3 doubles.
In doubles action, the #1 team of
KARA LANDSIEDEL and
CRYSALIN GLORIA won 8-1 while the #3 team of
LILY MCNEEL and
MEGAN MCKAY won 8-2.
Piedmont had no difficulty in singles play as all six players won in straight sets.
Against Agnes Scott, the #3 team of
DURDEN SMITH and
KARINA RIVERA won 8-0 while the #1 doubles team of
MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and
MEGAN WALDHEIM won 8-2.
The #2 team of
CAROLINE CONNELLY and
MAGGIE MOODY took an 8-4 win.
The Lady Lions won in straight sets in singles play.
