Raleigh, N.C. - The Piedmont College softball team was unable to pick up a win on day two of the Grand Slam Tournament dropping a 7-1 game to Virginia-Wesleyan and a 7-2 decision to Randolph-Macon.
Against the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan, the Marlins scored first taking the lead in the third inning and add four more insurance runs in the top of the seventh. The only run for Piedmont in that contest came off the bat of
MARIANN KENNISON as she went yard for the third time this season.
In game two against Randolph-Macon it was again Kennison that scored first for Piedmont as she had another home run in the second at bat of the game for the Lady Lions. Piedmont maintained a 1-0 lead until the fifth inning when the Yellow Jackets scored three runs on a hit and a pair of errors.
Turning Point
--The Marlins scored three runs on two hits and two errors to take the lead in the third inning and that was all it would take to seal the win.

MARIANN KENNISON had her third and fourth home runs of the season with one in each contest.
