Maryville, TN - CASSIDY REICH scored in the 29th minute to give Piedmont a 1-0 win over Howard Payne University. The Lady Lions earned their second win in two days to close out the Maryville College Tournament.

Saturday's game was held scoreless until CASSIE KIRK found Reich for the lone goal of the game. The Lady Lions held the Yellow Jackets to one shot for the remainder of the game and cruised to the win.

Goalie MIRANDA MCNALLEY earned her second win of her young career and first career shutout. The freshman saved the only shot she faced all game.

Reich led all players with five shots while Katie Devine and ANSLYN STAMPS added two shots apiece. Seven players for Piedmont each recorded one shot. SAVANNAH CASTLES added one shot on goal.

-- With the game tied at zero, CASSIDY REICH scored in the 29th minute with an assist from CASSIE KIRK.  

Standout Performances
-- With her goal, CASSIDY REICH recorded her third point of the season. Reich recorded one assist in Friday's 2-1 2OT win over Birmingham-Southern.

News & Notes
-- This marks the second time in three seasons that the Lady Lions took two wins the in the Maryville College Tournament.  
-- Piedmont outshot HPU 15-2 for the game.

Up Next
-- Piedmont returns to Tennessee next weekend for the Rhodes College Tournament. The Lady Lions will play Rhodes on September 9th and Millsaps on the 10th.
