Rocky Mount, N.C. - Despite getting the go-ahead run across in the top of the seventh with two outs, it was Greensboro who pulled the same feat scoring a pair with two outs to win in a walk-off 7-6 to eliminate the Lady Lions from the USA South Tournament. Piedmont trailed 5-3 entering the seventh inning and pulled off the comeback to score three in the frame, but it wasn't enough as the Pride were victorious and will be moving on.Â
Piedmont took the lead in the top of the third in what was a scoreless game with three runs beginning with a solo home run by senior
LAURA CARTER marking her only home run of her senior season.
HANNAH HOBAN doubled to plate another run while
LINSAY LINK singled to score Hoban.
The lead was short lived as the Pride scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the third on three hits and one error. Greensboro would tack on another pair in the bottom of the fifth leading it 5-3.Â

Piedmont loaded the bases again with two outs when
ALLYSON GENTRY reached on a fielder's choice, then an error allowed a pair to score securing the lead for the Lady Lions.
