The Lady Lions won on a walk-off 3-2 in game one and won in five innings 10-2 in game two to extend their win streak to six contests.Â
Game one was a tight contest as Piedmont led it 1-0 after a
LAURA CARTER double scored
ALLISON VAUGHN in the second inning. The Panthers took the lead in the top of the sixth though with two runs on two hits, three errors and left the bases loaded.Â
In the bottom of the seventh,
SYDNEY KINARD pinch hit and was walked, stole second, and was advanced to third on an illegal pitch. With two outs,
ALLYSON GENTRY drew a walk as well setting up
JOSIE COKER for the two-RBI walkoff double for the Lady Lions to win 3-2.Â
The Lady Lions left no doubt in game two as they put it away early with a five spot in the second inning scoring five runs on two hits and an error. The Lady Lions tacked on another run in the third inning and led it 6-1 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning. Piedmont added another four runs en route to a 10-2 run rule victory in five innings.Â
Three Lady Lions had two or more hits in the contest led by Vaughn's 3-for-3 outing while
LINSAY LINK was 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter who went into the designated player slot and
ABBY SMITH also recorded a pair of hits.Â
Turning Point--Once again it was
JOSIE COKER who came up big in the end as she hit the walkoff double scoring a pair of runs to lift the Lady Lions to a 3-2 win in game one.Â
--The Lady Lions put up five runs in the second inning of game two while starter
MELISSA ECKMAN allowed just one hit through the first three innings.Â
Standout Performances--In game one, Coker was 2-for-3 with two RBI, both of which came on the game-winning hit.

ALLISON VAUGHN was a perfect 3-for-3 in game two with two RBI and two runs scored.
Inside the Box Score--During the Lady Lions' six game win streak, the Piedmont pitching staff has not allowed more than two runs in any contest.Â
--Both
SARAH WALKER and
MELISSA ECKMAN have earned three victories in their last three starts over the past four days at Walker Athletic Complex.Â
News & Notes--Piedmont moved its record to 9-1 at home this season with the lone loss coming in the first game of a doubleheader against Birmingham-Southern. Up NextThe Lady Lions will host Averett University Sunday at Walker Athletic Complex for a double header beginning at noon.Â
