Second-Half Domination Leads To Lady Lion Victory 75-65

By outscoring their opponents 41-32 in the second half Piedmont College defeated visiting non-conference opponent Methodist College today by the score of 75-65 in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center. After trailing by as many as 12 points in the first-half the Lady Lions regained the lead as time expired at halftime en route to victory.

In the second half, Piedmont never relinquished the lead. The Lady Lions built a 10-point lead 52-42 on Sarah Lane's basket with 14:28 remaining. Piedmont then took its largest lead of the game, 14 points, on Stephanie Rainwater's 3-point basket at the 10-minute mark.


Shemekia Trimiar led four teammates in double-figures with a team-high 17 points. Nikki Sosebee recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lane tallied her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Beth Adcock chipped-in with 14 points and a team-high five assists while Sheena Trimiar scored six points and nabbed a team-high five steals. The Lady Lions outrebounded their opponents 44-33 including 23 offensive rebounds.

The win is the Lady Lions' fourth consecutive and eighth in their last nine games.

The victory moves the Lady Lions to 17-6 overall. Piedmont returns to action again on Wednesday, February 15th as they host Great South Athletic Conference opponent Huntingdon College beginning at 6:00.
