Reich notched a hat trick, scoring all three goals for Piedmont.
Reich scored the first goal of the contest in the 17th minute of play with MEGAN HATFIELD serving her the ball while her second goal came on a direct kick in the 38th minute. Her final score of the evening was off an assist by TORI GILLETT in the 62nd minute.
The freshman from Largo, Florida now has 17 goals this season, more than double that of the next Piedmont player in that category. Reich is leading the USA South in goals scored this season and has taken USA South Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week honors five times in 2015.
MICHAELA GARDNER earned three saves for the Lady Lions in the 14 shutout she has posted this season. For Hatfield and Gillett, each of their assists marked their sixth of the season. Turning Point--Reich scored twice in the first period to take a commanding 2-0 lead into the break.
Standout Performances--Reich's hat trick ties her with Laura Goodwin (2010) for the most by a freshman in program history.
Inside the Box Score--The three goals by Reich give her 17 now on the season, the same number Laura Goodwin scored in 2013, with Reich still having one regular season contest remaining.
News & Notes--Piedmont's CASSIDY REICH came into today's contest leading the USA South in goals, assists, points and shots. Up NextThe second of two USA South contests this weekend for the Lady Lions as they continue on to play Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm against the Pride, Piedmont's final game of the 2015 regular season.
