Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College women's basketball team evened its overall record a 7-7 while picking up its third USA South Athletic Conference victory Saturday with an easy 95-51 home win over the visiting Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin College.  Piedmont used a 16-0 run late in the first half and breezed the remainder of the contest.

With PC leading by nine (27-18) with just 6:17 remaining in the first half, the Lady Lions used a decisive 16-0 run run over the next four minutes to pull away as they would carry a 45-20 lead into the break.  The 16-point run included four steals that would lead to layups on the offensive end.

Mary Baldwin (0-15, 0-8 USA South) would get no closer as the Lady Lions would stretch the lead to as many as 46 in the second half. Piedmont forced 27 MBC turnovers while grabbing a season-high 21 steals.

ALYSSA JONES, SYMONE BALL and HALEY BROADWELL would each score 11 points to lead the Piedmont offense.  Broadwell's output marked a season-high for the freshman forward while teammate CHARLOTTE LEWALLEN came off the bench to grab a team best seven rebounds which also marked a season-high.  Freshman CAROLINE BROWN and LaShaunda Jones each came off the bench to score nine and eight points respectively as they both recorded new season-highs in the points column.

In addition to her 11 points, Jones collected four rebounds with the final one being her 500th career rebound.  Tjhe senior point guard passed the 200 steal milestone earlier this month.

Piedmont doubled up Mary Baldwin in the rebound column 42-21 while cashing in on a season-high 60% (38-63) from the floor.

Lindsey Poirot paced MBC with a team-best 15 points.
