Katarina Hodge Earns NGCA All-Region Honors

PC's Katarina Hodge was named to the National Golf Coaches Association's All-Region team marking the first-ever honor for the PC women's golf program.
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida – The National Golf Coaches Association (NGC) has announced the 2011-12 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women's Collegiate Golf. Winners were recognized at the NGCA Division III Awards Banquet held in Angola, Indiana in conjuction with this week's NCAA Division III National Championship tournament. 

On the season, Hodge carried a 78.8 season scoring average which is an all-time low for the PC women's golf program.  The sophomore from Dublin, GA earned four top-five finished on the year highlighted by medalist honors at the Georgia Mountains Trophy where she carded a one-over 72 setting a new single round school record.  She opened the year by earning medalist honors at the Piedmont College Fall Invitational with a 78-74--152.  This spring she capped a stellar sophomore campaign by earning medalist honors at the Great South Athletic Conference Championship which garnered her the league's Player of the Year distinction.

Hodge finished the season ranked #35 individually in the final NCAA Division III player rankings.  The NGCA honor is the first ever for the PC women's golf program. 

The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The NGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
