After a LAUREN HAMEL jumper tied the score at 22-22 with 7:25 left in the first half, NC Wesleyan would extend its lead to 34-25 with a 12-3 run but Piedmont would charge back to cut the deficit to just two before NCWC took a 38-34 lead into halftime.

NC Wesleyan would hold a double-figure lead (51-41) with 16:20 left only to see the Lady Lions fight back to even the score at 55 apiece with a 14-4 run capped by a LaShaunda Jones' basket.  From there the largest lead would be just five points.

A CHANDLER ALVERSON three-pointer would even the score at 73-73 with 2:30 remaining before NCWC's Urquart would answer with a layup at the 2:04 mark.  Piedmont's ALYSSA JONES would come up big as the senior guard canned a three-point basket to push the Lady Lions back in front 76-75 with just 0:36 remaining.  Urquhart would make an old-fashioned three-point play before another critical basket by PC's Jones would even the score for the final time with 0:11 remaining.  Urquhart would be fouled with just one second remaining and would net the game-winner after missing the first of two.

Jones finished a solid night with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists.  Hamel also tallied 18 points while LAUREN ANDERSON collected her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

NC Wesleyan would place four players in double-figures led by Urquhart who finished with 17 points and eight rebounds including the team's final six points.

Piedmont will complete the two-game conference road swing tomorrow afternoon with a 2:00 tip off at pre-season favorite Christopher Newport University.
