Lookout Mountain, GA -- The #25 Piedmont College women's golf team earned a third-place finish this afternoon at the seven-team Reeder Cup hosted by Covenant College at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club. The Lady Lions posted a 386-398--784 after sitting in a tie for second at the midway point of the 36-hole event.
The Lady Lions were led by freshman
Kimberley Tucker and her score of 91-100--191 to finish in ninth place in the 41-golfer field. Fellow freshman
Maria Carter also earned a top-10 finish with a 97-95--192.
NCAA Division II West Georgia was tied with PC after round one and rallied with a final day 359 to win the tournament. NAIA Tennessee Wesleyan rallied from fourth place to earn runner-up honors by seven strokes over PC.
The Lady Lions will wrap up the 2009-10 season by traveling to Prattville, AL to defending their 2009 title at the Huntingdon College Spring Invitational to be contested at Prattville Country Club on April 12-13.
