Demorest, GA -- With 13 players recording baskets the Piedmont College women's basketball team earned its tenth Great South Athletic Conference victory this evening at Cave Arena over Wesleyan College. The Lady Lions held the Pioneers to 17 first-half points en route to the 75-46 win.

After WC hit the first basket of the game the Lady Lions went on a 17-2 run capitalizing on five turnovers. The Pioneers answered to cut the margin to five but the home team ended the period on a 16-5 run with six points coming in the paint.

Down the stretch the Lady Lions led by as many as 31 and cruised to the 29-point victory. The women dominated the points in the paint 38-8 and posted 23 points off of turnovers. In addition the women pulled down 22 offense rebounds that led to 22 second-chance points.

The victory moves the Lady Lions to an even 12-12 overall and 10-3 in the GSAC. The women will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday, February 20th as they travel to Maryville College in Maryville, TN starting at 2:00.
