The Piedmont College baseball team traveled to Ricky Mount, NC this afternoon and fell to North Carolina Wesleyan College by the score of 12-10. After the Lions rallied to take the lead 10-9 in the seventh the Battling Bishops answered in the home half with a three-run homer to seal the victory.
The loss drops Piedmont to 9-6 overall and 1-2 on the road. These two teams will square off tomorrow, March 10th to wrap up the season series with first pitch scheduled for 11:00.
After the home team scored the first run of the game in the second inning the Lions answered with two runs in the third. The Battling Bishops would answer with a three-spot in the home half and increase the lead to 9-3 entering the seventh inning.
PC rallied with seven runs on five hits to take a slim 10-9 advantage. The lead would prove to be short lived as the home team answered with three runs on three hits to reclaim control for good. The Lions could only muster one hit in the final two innings and dropped the two-run decision.

JOHN DUKE paced the offense foinf 3-5 respectively.

ZACH KUNZ added a pair of stolen bags.
