After rallying from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the score, the Piedmont College men's soccer team dropped its second consecutive overtime decision at ODAC member Bridgewater College this afternoon 3-2. The Lions defense stymied the Eagles in the second half, but the home team found the golden goal on a header just four minutes into the extra frame.
BC jumped out with a pair of goals in the first 25 minutes of the match. The Lions responded with two goals of their own in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
JORGE PRADILLA connected on his fourth goal of the season and teammate
JACOB BROWN netted the equalizer, his first goal of the year.
Goalkeeper
BRIAN GAID was again impressive, detering all of Bridgewater's scoring opportunities in the second frame. Despite multiple scoring chances from both sides the teams remained tied 2-2 at the end of regulation.
Four minutes into the extra frame Bridgewater connected on the game winner handing PC their third loss of the season, all of which have come in overtime.
The Lions, who now stand at 1-3 overall, will return to the pitch again on Saturday, September 13th as they open Great South Athletic Competition in Montgomery, AL against Huntingdon College starting at 2:00 CST.
