The Piedmont College women's soccer team picked up its third Great South Athletic Conference victory of the season this evening at Walker Field against visiting LaGrange College by the score of 2-0. After the Lady Lions notched the eventual game winning goal four minutes into action the defense took over holding the Panthers to a mere one shot on goal.

Sophomore KATIE PORTER picked up her ninth goal of the season beating the goalkeeper on a pass from CAITLIN HURD at the fourth minute. The Lady Lion defense took over holding the visiting team at bay for the remainder of the first half.

In the second frame the Lady Lions possesed the ball for the majority of the action and tacked on an insurance goal at the 85th minute as TERESA MAYE posted her third goal of the season on Hurd's second assist of the match.

Goalkeeper Katelyn Induni posted her fourth shutout of the season making a tremendous save in the second half. The defenders, led by CASEY LOVELADY, CAITLIN DELVASTO and JESSICA POWELL held the Panthers to a single shot on goal.

The victory moves the Lady Lions to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will hit the road on Thursday, October 2nd as they travel to conference foe Wesleyan College in Macon, GA beginning at 6:00.
