#9 Emory Hands Men's Soccer Second Consecutive Shutout 4-0

Jorge Pradilla posted a pair of shots on goal in the Lions' 4-0 defeat at #9 Emory University.

For the second consecutive time the Piedmont College men's soccer team fell in shutout fashion, this evening at the hands of Emory University in Atlanta, GA by the score of 4-0. The Eagles, currently ranked #9 nationally, posted the game winner in the first half and tacked on three insurance goals in the second frame to seal the Lions fate.

PC moves to 4-5 overall and will look to rebound this Saturday, September 27th as they host south region foe Ferrum College at Walker Field under the lights beginning at 7:00.

After Emory notched the first goal of the match at the 17th minute the Lions defense answered the call and held the home team scoreless for the remainder of the first half and entered intermission trailing by the lone goal.

The Eagles added three insurance goals in the span of 17 minutes in the second frame to seal the victory. Between the posts freshman BRIAN GAID was remarkable saving 16 shots on goal, a new season high. JORGE PRADILLA gave the Lions there best scoring opportunities with a shot on goal in each half.

The loss is the fifth consecutive for Piedmont against the Eagles since the 2003 season. It also marks only the second time this season the Lions have dropped a match in regulation.
