For the fourth consecutive time in Cave Arena this season the Piedmont College volleyball team defeated its visiting opposition, tonight over local rival Toccoa Falls College by the score of 3-0. The Lady Lions, who have not dropped a single set at home this season, pick up their eighth shutout of the season and move to an impressive 10-2 in home or neutral contests.
PC opened the match with an impressive 25-15 victory, never trailing in the set. In the second and third set the Lady Lions controlled the net en route to the 25-12 and 25-12 victories.
It was a complete team effort offensively as 10 different Lady Lions posted kills. Outside hitter
NIKKI COLE led the squad in kills, the 12th time she has accomplished this feat, with a match high eight. Fellow junior
NIKKI COLE chipped in with five while setter
TYLER BALDONADO notched 29 assists.
On the defensive side libero
JENNIFER GRANLUND posted her 12th double digit total with a team best 14 digs.
ASHLEY CHIMA added nine digs while the Lady Lions combined for six total blocks.
The victory moves PC to 12-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 at Cave Arena. The Lady Lions will continue the current four-match homestand on Friday, September 26th as they host Great South Athletic Conference member Agnes Scott College starting at 5:00.
