Freshman Jon Reinert notched his first collegiate goal in dramatic fashion pushing the Lions to an overtime victory at Millsaps College 2-1.

After ending regulation tied for the fourth time this season the Piedmont College men's soccer team found the golden goal in overtime to defeat host Millsaps College in Jackson, MS by the score of 2-1. Freshman JON REINERT recorded his first career goal for the Lions hitting the game winner in the second overtime frame and propelling the squad to victory.

After a hard fought first half that featured nine shots on goal, both teams went into intermission scoreless. Junior JORGE PRADILLA, who posted the hat trick yesterday at Huntingdon College, scored the first goal of the match at the 55th minute beating the keeper from a JEREMY STILLE assist.

The Majors rallied with only four minutes remaining to tie the score at 1-1before the regulation horn sounded. With neither team finding the back of the net in the first overtime, freshman JON REINERT stepped up with the dramatic golden goal. It was also a career first for newcomer JON RYON who posted his first collegiate point with the game winning assist.

Between the posts BRIAN GAID continued his impressive play with four game saving saves. Despite being outshot 5-3 the Lions took full advantage of the opportunities converting two of their three shots into goals.

PC's victory marks the first time in the school's history since becoming NCAA Division-III that the men have won a regular season overtime decision. The Lions, who move to an even 3-3 overall, will return to action again on Tuesday, September 16th as they travel to local rival Toccoa Falls College beginning at 7:00.
