Piedmont Remains Flawless In GSAC Competition Breezing Past Huntingdon 3-0

Setter Tyler Baldonado posted a team best 24 assists and added three kills in the Lady Lions' 3-0 victory over Great South member Huntingdon College.
For the sixth time this season the Lady Lions posted a 3-0 shutout victory, this afternoon against visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College in Cave Arena. The victory extends Piedmont's winning streak to three matches and gives them eight victories in their last nine contests.

After cruising through the first set 25-16 the Lady Hawks rallied in the second set and took it's largest lead of the afternoon at 17-12. PC quickly answered behind 10 consecutive points off NIKKI COLE's service to take command of the second set. The Lady Lions used three sideouts to take the second set 25-19 and the overpowered it's opponent in the third and final set 25-13.

Piedmont implored a very balanced offensive attack as KATIE TUCKER, KALIN DEMARRAIS and NIKKI COLE led the way with six kills apiece. Setter TYLER BALDONADO paced the offense with a team high 24 assists as well as three kills and a pair of service aces.

On the defensive side newcomer RACHEL POWELL led the way wit three blocks while libero JENNIFER GRANLUND chipped in with a team best nine digs. The Lady Lions, who now stand at 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the GSAC will return to action again on Saturday, September 20th as they travel to the Thomas More College Tournament in Crestview Hills, KY starting at 10:00.
