Lady Lions Remain Undefeated In GSAC Action With 8-0 Victory over Huntingdon

Newcomer Justine Clay recorded her first career goal and game winner in PC's 8-0 victory over Huntingdon College.
For the second consecutive match the Lady Lions posted a Great South Athletic Conference shutout, this afternoon against host Huntingdon College by the score of 8-0 in Montgomery, AL. It was a complete team effort as six different players posted goals en route to the victory.

The Lady Lions move to a flawless 2-0 in the GSAC and 3-1 overall. Piedmont will travel to Jackson, MS to take on the Majors of Millsaps College tomorrow, September 14th beginning at 2:00 CST.

Freshman JUSTINE CLAY notched her first career goal and eventual game winner at the 12th minute of action on a corner kick. Junior ERIN PIPPIN followed 20 minutes later with her third career goal off a pass from CAITLIN DELVASTO. KATIE PORTER and KATIE CORLEY added a goal apiece in the final ten minutes, both unassisted, to give Piedmont a comfortable 4-0 advantage at the half.

Clay and Porter struck again with unassisted goals in the first 11 minutes of the second frame. Freshman TERESA MAYE notched her first career goal at the 77th mintue while sophomore KATELYN FITTON added the final blow with nine minutes remaining on the first career assist from MIRANDA SEABOLT.

With all of Piedmont's victories coming in shutout fashion, goalkeeper Katelyn Induni picked up her third of the season. The Lady Lions defense was stiffling holding the Hawks to a mere three shots on goal and one corner kick. PC received shots on goal from nine different players and recorded a season best 36 shots, 21 of which were on goal.
