In the third game of the weekend series the Piedmont College baseball team fell to Great South Athletic Conference host LaGrange College by the score of 6-3 in LaGrange, GA. The #10 ranked Lions could not overcome an early deficit and fell for only the second time this season in conference action.
After PC scored a run in the top of the first inning the Panthers responded with three runs on three hits in the home half. The Lions countered with two runs in the third as
JUSTIN OATES notched a two-out bases loaded single for two RBI's.
LaGrange quickly responded in the third with two runs on four hits to take the final lead of the game. The Lions went scoreless for the final six innings and could only muster seven hits while stranding 13 runners on base.
JOSH MCEACHIN notched three innings of relief allowing one run while scattering five hits.
TOM DIMITROFF came in with three innings of scoreless relief striking out four Panther hitters.

JUSTIN OATES, and
JUSTIN VORHERR all notched two hits while
ZAC STEIN chipped in with a double in his only at bat.
The loss moves Piedmont to 29-9 overall and wraps up the season with a 7-2 GSAC record. The Lions will be the top seed in the upcoming GSAC tournament and will face Maryville College at 4:00 on Friday, April 25th in LaGrange, GA.
