The Piedmont College softball team traveled to Montgomery, AL and swept a Great South Athletic Conference doubleheader from Huntingdon College by the scores of 5-1 and 7-1. The Lady Lions used a pair of complete-game victories from
LINDSAY DREVLOW and
B.J. COFER to extend their winning streak to three games.
In game one the Lady Lions posted a single run in the top of the fourth inning and tacked on four additional runs in the fifth to take the lead for good.
MEGAN DAY and
MARISSA HARDING combined for four hits while Drevlow went the dsistance allowing only one earned run.
In the series finale PC exploded for five runs in the third inning and added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth. Day again led the offensive charge with a pair of hits while
B.J. COFER picked up her second victory in the last three days.
The Lady Lions move to 18-9 overall and 5-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The softball team will return to the field again on Monday, April 14th as they travel to conference host Spelman College in Atlanta, GA beginning at 5:00.
