PC Offense Explodes For Season High Run Total In Victory Over Centre

Lions Roll To 19th Win Of The Season

Senior Andy House went 2-4 with three RBI's in the Lions' 11-4 victory over Centre College this evening at Loudermilk Field.
By plating runs in six of the eight opportunities this evening, the Piedmont College baseball team defeated visiting non-conference foe Centre College by the score of 11-4. Freshman DUSTY BLACK picked up his first collegiate victory on the mound going five innings allowing three earned runs while scattering six hits.

After the Colonels loaded the bases with no outs in the first the Lions defense came through with a double play and a flyout to trail 1-0. PC answered with a single run in the home half with an unearned run. In the second Piedmont scored four runs as JUSTIN OATES notched a one-put triple and came home on a COREY LINDSEY RBI-single.

Lindsey came around to score on an ANDREW MIGETZ sacrifice fly and with two outs ANDY HOUSE notched the eventual game-winning runs with a two-RBI single up the middle. With the score 6-1 Centre used three hits and a pair of runs to get within three. The Lions responded with a single run in the sixth as TRAVIS HUNT came around to score on House's third RBI of the night.

PC would add a pair of insurance runs in the seventh and eighth as Lindsey and BRADLEY ROLAND produced RBI-doubles. JARED MOON capped the scoring with an RBI-groundout. The Colonels posted an unearned run in the ninth, but could get no close than the seven-run deficit.

House led the offense going 2-4 with three RBI's while Lindsey went 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Oates also went 2-3 with a triple and two runs scored. B.J. HAMPTON went three scoreless innings with as many strikeouts while Dimitroff closed out the game with two strikeouts.

On the night the Lions posted 12 hits and eight stolen bases to produce 10 earned runs. PC, who now stands at 19-4 overall, will return to the field again tomorrow, March 21st to take on University of Wisconsin-Platteville at Loudermilk Field beginning at 7:00.
