For the first time in the 2008 season the Piedmont College baseball team dropped a home game at Loudermilk Field to Adrian College by the score of 4-3. The Lions had ample opportunities but stranded 13 runners, eight of which were in scoring position en route to the loss.
PC moves to 8-3 overall, 4-2 in one-run decisions. The Lions will return to action on Saturday, March 1st as they host #10 ranked Marietta College at Loudermilk Field beginning at 1:00.
The Lions got on the board in the first inning on a double play grounder with the bases loaded. Adrian answered in the top of the second with a bases loaded fielders choice. The Bulldogs took the lead with single run fourth coming on a two-out single.

COLE SPEDALE who led the inning off with a sharp single up the middle making the score 2-2. The Bulldogs tacked on another run in the fifth before the Lions knotted the score for the final time in the home half as
JUSTIN OATES connected on a sacrifice fly driving in
MATT DEVITO.
The game remained tied until the eighth when AC led the inning off with a solo homerun. The Lions could not answer in their final two at-bats and lost their second consecutive one-run game.
Spedale led the offense going 2-4 with a run scored and a stolen base while
EVAN NISSLEY also went 2-4 with a walk and a run scored.
ANDREW MIGETZ extended his 11-game hitting streak going 1-2 with a walk and a hit by pitch.
