The Piedmont College women's basketball team played spoiler to GSAC host Maryville College's senior day by handing the Scots a 64-60 defeat this afternoon in Maryville, TN. Two Lady Lions reached double figures as the women complete the school's first-ever undefeated Great South Athletic Conference regular season.
Maryville opened the game on a 14-4 run over the course of the first four minutes. The Lady Lions trailed by as many as 11 in the first half going on a 15-0 run as PC posted a pair of tri-fectas and seven free-throws on eight attempts to give PC the lead 31-29 at halftime.
Maryville answered in the second frame to tie the score at 41-41 with 13 minutes remaining in regulation. Both teams then went scoreless for four minutes before the Scots ended the drought with a pair of free-throws.

Simmons led all scorers with a game-high 20 points while Trimiar also posted double figures with 16 points and three steals. Adcock posted a game-high five assists while
LISA JENNINGS chipped in with nine points including 3-4 from behind the arc.
The victory moves Piedmont to an impressive 22-3 overall and 12-0 in Great South Atlhletic Conference action. The Lady Lions will enter the GSAC Tournament as the top-seed and compete on Friday, February 29th at 5:30 in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center.
