In the first match of the 2008 season the Piedmont College women's tennis team was shutout this afternoon by NCAA Division-III south region host Sewanee-University of the South in Sewanee, TN by the score of 9-0. The Lady Lions will look to rebound tomorrow, February 16th as they take on Roanoke College beginning at 9:00 CST.

Sewanee controlled the match from the outset winning the three doubles matches while only dropping a single point. In the singles matches the Lady Lions could only muster nine games won as the Tigers recorded six straight-set victories. Piedmont moves to 0-1 overall on the young season.
