Lady Lions Extend Winning Streak To Seven With 3-0 Victory Over Huntingdon

In the Lady Lions' 3-0 victory at Huntingdon junior Nikki Cole posted eight kills and four blocks, both team highs.

The Piedmont College volleyball team traveled to Montgomery, AL this afternoon and defeated Great South Athletic Conference host Huntingdon College by the score of 3-0. The Lady Lions extended their current winning streak to seven matches and remain flawless in conference action.

PC dominated the homestanding Lady Hawks in the first two sets 25-11 and 25-14. HC rallied in the third and final frame but the Lady Lions prevailed 25-23 to take their 12th shutout victory of the season.

MEGHANN CLARK and NIKKI COLE paced the offensive attack with eight kills apiece while KALIN DEMARRAIS chipped in with six. Setter TYLER BALDONADO posted a game high 32 assists while Cole and Clark combined for five serving aces.

On the defensive side of the net libero Lennifer Granlund notched a team high seven digs while Clark and Baldonado teamed up for eight. KATIE TUCKER notched a squad best five total blocks, closely followed by Cole and HEATHER STAFFORD who added four and two respectively.

The victory moves the netters to 18-4 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will return to action again on Tuesday, October 7th as they travel to local rival Brenau University in Gainesville, GA beginning at 7:00.
