In the final regular season home match of the season the Piedmont College women's soccer team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Agnes Scott College this evening by the score of 4-0. The Lady Lions posted a pair of goals in each frame to cruise to the shutout at Walker Field.
Sophomore KATIE PORTER opened the scoring at the 15th minute beating the keeper on a pass from ERIN PIPPIN. The eventual game winner marked the ninth of the season for Porter who currently leads the team with 22 goals. The duo connected again at the 42nd minute with Pippin recording the goal off a cross from Porter.
In the second frame SARA LINDSLEY recorded an unassisted insurance goal at the 50th minute while TERESA MAYE capped the scoring 16 minutes later off a pass from Porter. Between the posts KAITLYN INDUNI notched her fifth shutout of the season with three saves.
PC posted its fifth shutout of the season and wrap up the year with a 5-2 mark at the friendly confines of Walker Field. The Lady Lions, who stand at 12-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference, will play host to the first round of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday, November 1st with the opponent and game time yet to be determined.
