Contact: Richard Dombrowsky, Sports Information Director

Katie Porter posted her 18th goal of the season in the Lady Lions' thrilling 1-0 double overtime victory at LaGrange College.
In the second overtime match of the season the Piedmont College women's soccer team found the golden goal in extra time this evening to defeat Great South Athletic Conference host LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. The victory moves the Lady Lions to a perfect 2-0 on overtime matches and marks the eighth conference victory of the season.

PC now stands at 10-5 overall and 8-3 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will return to action again on Friday, October 24th in the final soccer doubleheader of the season at Walker Field beginning at 5:00.

Despite multiple scoring opportunities in the first and second halves neither team could find the back of the net forcing the match into overtime. In the first ten minutes the Lady Lions posted a pair of shots on goal, but could not convert and sent the match into the second and final frame.

Just two minutes into double overtime sophomore KATIE PORTER found the golden goal from 25 yards out beating the keeper in the top of the net. The goal marked her 18th of the season and the seventh game winner.

In a defensive struggle the Lady Lions were able to post eight shots on goal compared to the Panthers' four. Sophomore goalkeeper Katelyn Induni was perfect saving all four shots on goal marking her fourth shutout of the season.
