Maryville Ends PC's Six-Match Winning Streak 3-0

Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Induni posted a season best 14 saves in the Lady Lions' 3-0 loss at Maryville.

The Piedmont College women's soccer team fell to Great South Athletic Conference powerhouse Maryville College this afternoon by the score of 3-0 in Maryville, TN. The loss snaps the Lady Lions' six-match winning streak and marks the third conference loss of the season.

PC, who now stands at 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the Great South Athletic Conference, will return to action again on Tuesday, October 21st as they travel to conference host LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA beginning at 5:30.

The home standing Scots posted the eventual game winning goal at the 18th minute. PC's defense took over for the remainder of the half and the squad found themsevles trailing 1-0 at intermission. In the second frame Maryville tacked on a pair of insurance goals at the 67th and 83rd minutes to seal the victory.

Between the posts KAITLYN INDUNI was impressive with a season best 14 saves. MC held the advantage in shots on goal (17-2) and corner kicks (3-1). Freshman JUSTINE CLAY gave the Lady Lions their best scoring opportunities with both shots on goal.
