The Piedmont College men's soccer team traveled to Atlanta, GA this afternoon and fell to in-state rival Oglethorpe University by the score of 2-1. The Stormy Petrels posted a pair of second half goals to upend the Lions and snap the team's four-match winning streak.
PC took a 1-0 advantage into the half as JORGE PRADILLA beat the keeper at the 29th minute with the assist going to goalkeeper BRIAN GAID. The goal marked the 20th goal of the season for Pradilla, who was recently named the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
The home team found the equalizer at the 49th minute and the eventual game winner at the 83rd minute to seal the match. The one-goal loss marks the fourth of the season for PC and marks the fifth time that the Lions have been held to less than two goals.
Piedmont now stands at 8-6 overall and will return to action on Saturday, October 18th as they travel to Great South Athletic Conference host Maryville College in Maryville, TN beginning at 6:00.
