In a showdown of unbeaten Great South Athletic Conference teams the visiting Scots of Maryville College snapped the Piedmont volleyball team's eight-match winning streak this evening by the score of 3-1. The defeat marks the first home loss for the Lady Lions in eight matches at Cave Arena.
PC now stands at 19-5 overall and 6-1 in the GSAC. The women will look to rebound tomorrow, October 11th as they travel to Atlanta, GA to take on conference foe Agnes Scott College at 12:00 and Spelman College at 5:00.
With the senior class being recognized before the match the Lady Lions took the first set by the score of 25-23 before the visitors rallied to take the final three frames 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23. Senior
MEGHANN CLARK led the team with a season high 14 kills while
NIKKI COLE and
KATIE TUCKER posted nine and eight respectively. Senior
ASHLEY CHIMA also chipped in with four kills.

TYLER BALDONADO led the way with 40 assists while the Lady Lions converted a pair of service aces. The loss moves PC to 7-1 at home where the team has won 22 of 25 sets.
