After dropping its first Great South Athletic Conference match of the season yesterday, the Piedmont College volleyball team rebounded on short rest to defeat Agnes Scott College and Spelman College 3-0 respectively. The Lions topped ASC 30-16, 30-11, and 30-16 before traveling across town to Spelman and blanking the Jaguars 30-19, 30-22, and 30-21.

It was all PC against the Scotties in the first match as Piedmont did not allow ASC to score more than 16 points in any of the three games. KATIE TUCKER led the offense with six kills while KALIN DEMARRAIS continued her impressive freshman campaign with nine service aces and 10 digs.

It was a career day for SARAH LANE as the senior notched her 1,000th kill against Spelman with a team high 16 kills. TYLER BALDONADO recorded a season high 43 assists in the shutout victory.

Piedmont now stands at 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will take the court again on Saturday, October 6th as they travel to conference foe LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA starting at 12:30 followed by a non-conference match against Methodist University at 2:30.
