After being shutout in their last conference match, the Lions rebounded to defeat visiting Great South Athletic Conference member LaGrange College in convincing fashion 7-1 tonight at PC's Walker Field. PC dominated the game offensively outshooting the visiting Panthers12-1.
Joey Kreiger started the offensive onslaught with a well-placed shot from outside the box at the 18th minute. LaGrange found the back of the net just ten minutes later to knot the score at 1-1. Drew Griffin found the back of the net five minutes later for the eventual game-winner and Josh Seabrook tacked on another goal just three minutes later with the assist going to Jorge Pradilla.
In the second half Griffin found the back of the goal three more times while Pradilla chipped in with a goal, his third of the season. The Lions were able to score three times in the final seven minutes of regulation to cap off the match.
The victory moves Piedmont to 4-3 overall and an even 1-1 in Great South Athletic Conference competition. The Lions will hit the road for a pair of matches this weekend, the first set for Saturday, September 22nd at Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, VA starting at 1:00.
