PC Grinds Out Victory Over LaGrange College 3-1

Despite Slow Start Lady Lions Improve Winning Streak To Six Matches

Setter Tyler Baldonado notched a season-high 47 assists to lead PC past LaGrange College.
In its first Great South Athletic Conference regular-season match of the year, the Piedmont College volleyball team edged visiting LaGrange College by the score of 3-1. In a closely contested match the Lions dropped the first game 27-30 but rallied to win the next three games 30-27, 30-26, and 30-27.

The victory is the sixth consecutive for the PC volleyball team who currently stand at 9-1 overall and 1-0 in the GSAC. The squad will return to the court again tomorrow, September 16th as they host GSAC visitor Huntingdon College in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center starting at 1:00.

Setter TYLER BALDONADO notched a season-high 47 assists to pace the Piedmont offense. SARAH LANE and NIKKI COLE both reached double-figures in kills with 13 and 12 respectively while KALIN DEMARRAIS and KATIE TUCKER chipped in with nine kills apiece.

JILL SPARGER recorded 19 digs from the libero position while Baldonado, HEATHER STAFFORD, and JENNIFER GRANLUND all chipped in with a pair of service aces respectively. Tucker continued her impressive play at the net tallying a team-high pair of solo blocks.
