PC Men's Cross Country Earns Runner-Up Finish At GSAC Championships

Women's Team Finishes Sixth & Places Three On All-Academic Team

The Piedmont College men's cross country team finished runner up at the 2007 GSAC Championships.
The Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams played host to the 2007 Great South Athletic Conference Championships today in Dillard, GA with the men's team finishing as the runner-up in the three-team field to Maryville College while the women finished in sixth place out of the six teams in the field.

On the men's side CHRISTOPHER RICE led Piedmont with an 8K time of 30:37 to finish in third place overall. MICHAEL FIDERO and YVE CHAWLA followed with races times of 30:44 and 32:00 good enough for fourth and seventh place overall. MONTEZ JONES and TRENT SMITH also ran and finished the race with times of 34:28 and 38:28 respectively.

On the women's side DANIELLE VIDD completed the 6K course in a time of 33:34 to finish in 27th place overall. Kristin Pratt and STEFANIE GARRETT completed the course in 35:04 and 36:52 respectively while JOANNA MOYE and JILLIAN PRATT also finished the course in 37:49 and 42:05 each. Kristin Pratt, JILLIAN PRATT, and JOANNA MOYE represented Piedmont College on the All-Academic Team.

For their efforts CHRISTOPHER RICE and MICHAEL FIDERO were named to the Great South All-Conference team as the award was given to the top four finishers in the conference championships. Rice, Fidero and Chawla will represent Piedmont College in the NCAA Division-III Cross Country Regional in Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, November 10th with the race time to be determined.
