Women's Basketball Team Downs Emory 64-51 To Remain Unbeaten

Lady Lions Hold Eagles To Only 17 Second Half Points

After trailing 34-30 at intermission the Piedmont College women's basketball team's defense answered the call and held host Emory University to a mere 17 points in the second half to seal a 64-51 victory in Atlanta, GA. PC's defense held the Eagles to a remarkable 5-32 (15%) from the field in the second half to secure the 13-point victory.

Piedmont used a very balanced attack with nine different Lady Lions recording points led by BETH ADCOCK who notched 16 points including 3-4 from behind the tri-fecta. NIKKI SOSEBEE also reached double figures with 12 points while LISA JENNINGS added nine points on 3-5 from the three-point line.

Emory started the game on a 21-5 run before Piedmont ended the first half on a 25-14 run to get within four points. To start the second frame PC went on a 20-12 run and never looked back as Emory was unable to get within eight points for the remainder of regulation. The Lady Lions were able to double their opponents in the second half 34-17.

The victory moves Piedmont to a perfect 3-0 overall. The Lady Lions will return to the hardwood again on Saturday, November 24th as they travel to the Cross Creek Innkeeper Turkey Shootout hosted by Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. The women will take on tournament host MU beginning at 8:00.
