The Piedmont College Department of Athletics is set to host the 2007 Great South Athletic Conference men's and women's cross country championships in Dillard, GA on Saturday, November 3rd. There will be three total teams on the men's side and six total teams on the women's side vying for the honor of GSAC champion.
LaGrange College, Maryville College, and Piedmont College will make up the men's field. The harriers will compete in an 8K course starting at 12:00. Last season the Scots of Maryville were able to hold off the Panthers of LaGrange to claim the championship, their second consecutive year garnering the championship.
Agnes Scott College, Spelman College, Wesleyan College, LaGrange, Maryville, and Piedmont will make up the women's field. The runners will compete in a 6K course beginning at 11:00. Last season the Scots were able to hold off the Scotties of Agnes Scott to win the title and claim a clean sweep of the cross country championships.
Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in Dillard, GA will be the course for the meets on Saturday. Rabun Gap served as home to the Piedmont College Invitational on Saturday, September 29th which featured many of the Great South school in attendance. The conference awards ceremony will take place immediately following the completion of the races.
