For only the third time this season the Piedmont College women's soccer team was unable to notch a goal and dropped the 11-0 decision to visiting south region foe Sewanee-University of the South this afternoon at Walker Field. The Lady Lions were outmatched by the onslaught of offense from the Tigers who outshot PC 23-1.
The loss drops PC to 3-6 overall. The women will look to rebound on Wednesday, October 10th as they travel to Great South Athletic Conference host Spelman College in Atlanta, GA beginning at 4:00.
The Tigers struck early and often notching five goals before intermission, the eventual game-winner coming at the fourth minute. Sewanee tacked on six insurance goals in the second half including three goals in the final nine minutes of the match.
The best scoring chance for PC came late in the second half when KATIE CORLEY was able to put a shot on goal. KAITLYN INDUNI did everything she could between the posts notching 12 saves in the losing effort.
