The Piedmont College women's soccer team dropped a Great South Athletic Conference match tonight as visiting Agnes Scott College defeated the host Lady Lions 5-2 at PC Walker Field. Piedmont was able to tie the match at 2-2 in the second half but the Scotties scored three unanswered goals in a 19 minute streak to seal the league victory.
Agnes Scott scored the match's first goal at the 15th minute. The Lady Lions answered as LAUREN DODD beat the keeper at the 23rd minute with the assist going to SARA LINDSLEY. The Scotties added another goal just seconds before the end of regulation to enter the half up 2-1.
At the 57th minute the PC tandem connected again, this time with the goal going to Lindsley on an impressive pass from Dodd. Agnes Scott notched the eventual game winner at the 62nd minute and tacked on a pair of insurance goals at the 70th and 76th minute.
The loss drops PC to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will again play host to non-conference opponent Sewanee-University of the South on Sunday, October 7th with kick off slated for 3:00.
