In the final home match of the 2007 season the Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College this afternoon at Walker Field by the score of 5-1. The Lions finish the regular season an impressive 6-1 at home and are now a perfect 11-0 when scoring at least two goals.
The victory clinches at least a tie for first place in the GSAC regular season. The Lions will host the Great South Conference Championships at Walker Field on Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 4th with the semifinal match taking place at a time to be determined later.
Forwards Jeremy Stille and Jorge Pradilla connected three times on the afternoon including the first goal as Pradilla beat the keeper on a pass from Stille. After Huntingdon answered back a mere one minute later the duo hooked up again for the game-winner, this time with Stille notching the eventual game-winner.
Pradilla notched an insurance goal at the 30th minute off a pass from Josh Seabrook, then capped off his afternoon with an assist to Stille in the 52nd minute. Senior Seabrook completed his final regular season with the PC program in style with an unassisted goal at the 55th minute.
