Women's Soccer Team Falls Just Short Against Toccoa Falls College 2-1

Lady Lions Unable To Find Equalizer, Drop One Goal Decision

Lauren Dodd provided an assist in the match against Toccoa Falls College this evening at Walker Field.

The Piedmont College women's soccer team jumped ahead of visiting local rival Toccoa Falls College tonight at Walker Field but could not hold the Eagles off and fell for the fifth straight match by the score of 2-1. After posting the match's first goal at the 36th minute PC allowed a pair of unanswered goals and lost the close non-conference decision.

In the first half SARA LINDSLEY was able to chip her shot past the keeper with the assist going to LAUREN DODD who won the ball just across midfield. The Eagles responded just three minutes later with the equalizer to knot the match at 1-1 entering halftime.

Despite scoring opportunities the Lady Lions could not find the back of the net and allowed the eventual game winning goal at the 60th minute as Toccoa Falls struck with an impressive header on a corner kick. Between the posts KAITLYN INDUNI did all she could saving five shots on goal.

The loss drops PC to 3-9 overall. The Lady Lions will take the field again on Thursday, October 18th as they travel to Great South Athletic Conference host LaGrange College with kick off scheduled for 5:30.
