It was a tough day for the Piedmont College women's soccer team as the Lady Lions allowed 11 unanswered goals to drop their fourth consecutive match this afternoon to visiting Maryville College at PC's Walker Field. The Scots offense was high-powered notching five goals in the first half and tacking on six in the second, three of which came in the match's final 22 minutes.
The loss drops Piedmont to 3-8 overall and 3-6 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will look to rebound on Tuesday, October 16th as they host local rival Toccoa Falls College at Walker Field beginning at 5:00.
The Lady Lions offense could not produce a shot on goal in the contest while Maryville notched 20 shots on goal. Between the posts
KAITLYN INDUNI recorded nine saves.
The loss is the second of the year the PC women have yielded to 2006 Great South Athletic Conference champions Maryville College. The Scots have had Piedmont's number this year outscoring the Lady Lions 23-1.
