The Piedmont College women's basketball team shot an impressive 44% from the field for the entire game and coasted to an 85-56 victory over Great South Athletic Conference host Wesleyan College in Macon, GA this evening. Eleven different Lady Lions notched baskets in the victory as Piedmont improves to 10-6 overall and 6-1 in the Great South Atheltic Conference.
Nikki Sosebee led three Lady Lions in double figures with a team-high 18 points. Beth Adcock continued her impressive scoring with 17 points while Stephanie Rainwater chipped in with 11 points. Carissa Mitchell led three Pioneers in double figures with a game-high 22 points.
Wesleyan held the lead briefly in the first half at 15-13 but PC regained and never relenquished the lead as the Lady Lions went on a 20-3 run over the next six minutes. After taking a 47-31 lead into the half, the Piedmont extended its lead to as many as 31 en route to the 29-point victory.
The women will travel to Salem, VA to take on Roanoke College on Sunday, January 28th beginning at 5:00 and will wrap up a two-game swing with a contest at Hollins University on Monday, January 29th.
