Despite being outscored 44-35 in the second-half, the Piedmont College Lady Lions prevailed over visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent LaGrange College tonight by the score of 77-65 in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center. The victory marks the third straight GSAC win and moves PC into a tie for second place in the conference.
Sheena Trimiar led four teammates in double-figures with a game-high 16 points and five steals. Kayla Duncan chipped-in with 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds while Nikki Sosebee and Beth Adcock added 13 and 10 points respectively.
After holding LaGrange scoreless for over five minutes in the first half the Lady Lions went into halftime with a 42-21 lead. In the second half PC was outscored 44-35 but held on to the 12-point victory.
The win is the Lady Lions' seventh in their last eight games and moves PC to 16-6 overall and 9-3 in the GSAC. The Lady Lions will return to action again on Saturday, February 11th as they host non-conference opponent Methodist College with tip-off scheduled for 2:00.
