By holding their opponents to a mere 37% from the field the Piedmont College women's basketball team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent Huntingdon College tonight by the score of 82-67 in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center. The win marks the Lady Lions' fifth straight victory and the ninth in their last ten contests.
Huntingdon led 15-14 midway through the first half only to see Piedmont go on a 15-2 run to gain an 11-point advantge that the Lady Hawks would not be able to threaten. Piedmont held a 33-25 advantage at intermission and outscored their opponents 49-42 in the second period for the 15-point victory.
Leading the way for the Lady Lions was Kayla Duncan who led five teammates in double-figures with a team-high 25 points. Sarah Lane added 12 points and teammate Shemekia Trimiar chipped-in with 11 points and six steals. Nikki Sosebee tallied her ninth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The win moves PC to 18-6 overall and 10-3 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions return to action again on Saturday, February 18th as they host visiting conference opponent Agnes Scott College in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center with tip-off slated for 2:00.
